Women's Track & Field Takes Fifth Place at Landmark Championships.

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata women's track and field team finished in fifth place in the indoor Landmark Championships, Saturday at Susquehanna University.

The women's distance medley relay was the top finisher for the Eagles at the championship meet, placing second place with a time of 13:01.12. The time of 13:01.12 is now the second best all time in Juniata history.

Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Forest Hills) was the Eagles individual top finisher with her second place finish in the 3,000 meter run. Her time of 10:45.62 put her in the third spot all time in Juniata's history. 

Teammates Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass. / Methuen HS) and Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset Area HS) also competed in the 3,000 meter run, finishing sixth and 15th respectively. In the 60 meter dash, Sabrina Kelly (Gilberstville, Pa. / Boyertown Area HS) placed 17th with a time of 9.63. In the 200 meter dash, Jennifer Roxby (Salix, Pa. / Forest Hills) placed 17th with a time of 30.14 while Kelly placed 21st with a time of 32.70. Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Taylor Allderdice) took fourth place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.06. Nichols time of 1:03.06 was also a season best time for her. 

In the 800 meter run, Grace Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg) placed 13th (2:36.72) while Jessica Aragon (Bridgeport, Conn. / Central HS) placed 23rd (2:48.19) and Lydia Heishman (Keezletown, Pa. / Spotswood High) placed 25th (2:58.46). In the 5,000 meter run, Abbie Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) took seventh place with a time of 20:40.20. Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) took fourth in the 60 meter hurdles coming in with a time of 10:01. The women's 4x400 meter relay placed fourth finishing with a time of 4:22.72. 

On the field side of things, Walshaw-Wertz placed eighth in the long jump, jumping 4.57 meters. Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa. / Penns Valley) placed seventh (10.44m) in the shot put while Marylauren Davignon (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) placed 18th (8.25m). In the weight throw, Ordorf placed fifth (12.67m) while Davignon placed 18th (9.02m). Orndof improved upon her school record in the shot put and weight throw.
