SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata women's track & field team competed at the Susquehanna Invitational on Friday.
Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass. / Methuen HS) was the top finisher for the Eagles, placing second in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:39.93 while teammate Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Forest Hills) placed third in the event with a time of 10:51.45. Abbie Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) and Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset Area HS) placed 13th and 18th, respectively in the 3,000 meter run.
In the 60 meter hurdles, Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) took fifth place finishing with a time of 10.22 while Jennifer Roxby (Salix, Pa. / Forest Hills) took 11th place finishing with a time of 10.54. The women's distance medley placed third with a time of 13:13.63. In the 60m dash, Sabrina Kelly (Gilberstville, Pa. / Boyertown Area HS) finished 33rd with a time of 9.79.
The women's 4x200 meter relay took sixth place with a time of 1:57.40. Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Taylor Allderdice) finished 15th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:06.45. Grace Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg), Jessica Aragon (Bridgeport, Conn. / Central HS), and Lydia Heishman (Keezletown, Pa. / Spotswood High) placed 13th, 32nd, and 35th, respectively in the 800 meter run.
Kelly finished 39th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 32.54. The women's 4x400 meter relay took third place with a time of 4:23.61.
On the field side of things, Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa. / Penns Valley) placed 22nd in the weight throw, throwing 11.64m. In the shot put, Orndorf placed 14th, throwing 9.63m. Walshaw-Wertz took ninth place in the long jump (4.71m) and 11th in the triple jump (9.15m).
The Eagles return to action February 24th for the Landmark Conference Championships at Susquehanna.
