Women's Track & Field Finishes Strong at Bison Open & Multi

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Juniata women's track & field team completed day two of the Bison Open & Multi at Bucknell on Saturday.

Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Forest Hills) was the top finisher for the Eagles. Collado was third in the 1,000 meter run recording a time of 3:11.15 and she placed fifth in the one mile run recording a time of 5:24.22. In Collado's 1,000 meter run she improved her time by 2.18 and she continues to be the top performer in the event. In her mile run, Collado improved by .05. 

In the 500 meter run, Meaghen Stewart (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield), Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff), and Grace Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg) finished eighth (1:27.07), ninth (1:27.14), and tenth (1:28.20) respectively. Stewart improved on her 500 meter run time by .57 seconds and stayed at number two on the all time top performers list. Freimuth moved to number three on the all time top performers list in her 500 meter run.  Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) placed 61st with a time of 29.04 while Jennifer Roxby (Salix, Pa. / Forest Hills) placed 72nd with a time of 30.75 in the 60 meter dash. 

The 4x400 meter relay team of Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Taylor Allderdice), Alexander, Stewart, and Freimuth placed 13th with a time of 4:28.55. 

On the field side of things, Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa. / Penns Valley) placed 20th in the weight throw, throwing 12.19m. 

There were a total of 14 personal records and three other season best times over the weekend between the men and women's team's. 

The Eagles return to action February 3rd for the S.U. Challenge at Susquehanna.
