Women's Track & Field Selected Fourth in Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata women's track and field team was selected fourth in this year's Landmark Conference preseason poll.

Juniata finished 11 points behind Susquehanna, while Elizabethtown is second with 52 points and two first place votes. Moravian sits at the top with 58 points and five first place votes. 
 
 Juniata has a young core with nine freshman and seven sophomores. Returning standouts for the Eagles are junior Yanibel Collado who finished second in the 5,000 meter race in last year's Landmark Conference championships and junior Kylie Orndorf who threw a 38.11m in the javelin at last year's championships making that the fourth best in Juniata's history. Another standout returner is junior Faith Nichols who finished eighth in the 400 meter run in last year's championships. Two freshman standouts for the Eagles are Meadow Walshaw-Wertz who will be competing in hurdles and jumps and Jennifer Roxby who will be competing in hurdles. 
 
The Eagles open the season December 1st at the River Hawks Opener.
