SCRANTON, Pa. – At the conclusion of the three day Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by Marywood University, the Juniata College women's swim team finished seventh overall with 348.5 points.

In the 400 free relay, the final event of the championships, the team of senior Hillary Palmer (Fayetteville, Ga./Fayette County), freshman Erika Fimple (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby), and sophomores Emily Nye (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) and Tzvia Cahn (San Jose, Calif./Kehilla Jewish) swam to a another first place finish. Their time of 3:38.66 broke the school record set last year at the championship meet and also set the new records for the Landmark Championship meet and the pool.

Fimple followed up her record-breaking second place finish in the 100 fly yesterday, with another record setting performance in the 200 fly. Her second place time of 1:12.96 smashed the record of 1:17.04 that she set in the preliminary round of the race.

In the 100 free, Palmer's time of 54.70 was good enough for fourth overall and was the third fastest time recorded in school history. Nye finished fifth in 55.20, while Cahn finished 15th with a mark of 56.96.

Junior Mary Kate Meingossner (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) finished the 200 backstroke in 9th place with a personal best time of 2:18.74. Sophomore Caitlin McCann (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda Chevy Chase) touched the wall in 2:40.17 in the 200 breaststroke, placing 15th.

The foursome of Palmer, Fimple, Nye, and Cahn teamed up to break a total of four school records in the 200 and 400 medley relays and the 200 and 400 free relays. The team's time in the 200 freestyle relay not only broke Juniata's program record, but broke the Landmark, pool, and championship meet records as well.
