Men's Track and Field Compete at F&M

LANCASTER, Pa.- The Juniata men's track returned to Franklin & Marshall College for the Blue and White Invitational on Friday evening. Barrett Walters and Isaiah Huffstutler had the best performances of the day, with Walters earning sixth in the weight throw and Huffstutler placing seventh with a new PR in the 60 meters.

Walters threw 14.27 meters to place in sixth. Logan Hackenberg also threw in the weight throw, finishing with a mark of 7.47 meters in 44th place.

Huffstutler was the best of three Eagles in the 60 meters, setting a PR and earning seventh place with a time of 7.23. His previous best was a 7.26 set at the Moravian Indoor Meet at Lehigh in January. Caleb Massare set his best time of the season, a 7.63 that put him in 33rd place. Ivan Foreman was able to PR with a time of 7.70, claiming 37th. He set a 7.81 in his collegiate debut at the Moravian Indoor Meet.

The trio also raced in the 200 meters. Huffstutler finished in 22nd place, one-tenth of his PR, with a time of 24.70. Massare was also able to set a season-best in the 200 meters with a 24.91, which placed him in 26th. Foreman completed his day with his second PR of the meet with a time of 25.87, finishing in 41st.

Walters and Hackenberg also threw in the shot put to conclude the evening for Juniata. Walters set a new personal best with a 12.01-meter throw to earn 24th place. His previous best mark was an 11.48 set at the season-opener at Susquehanna in December. Hackenberg also set a new best with a mark of 8.25 meters, finishing in 51st. His previous best mark was 7.09 meters, also set at Susquehanna in December. 

Augie Secco, Gavin Robb, and Ellis Kline each raced in the 800 meters, with Secco setting the team's best time with a 2:18.77, finishing 39th. It's a new PR, besting his 2:20.05 set at the Moravian Indoor meet last month. Robb's first collegiate 800-meter race earned him 41st with a time of 2:30.16. Kline was 43rd with a time of 2:35.95.

Secco also made his mile debut, finishing in 22nd place with a time of 4:58.32. 

Kline also raced in the 3000 meters later in the day, setting a season-best time of 10:45.00 to finish in 25th.

Sean Buckley set his first pole vault mark for Juniata at 2.59 meters, finishing in 19th place. Robb was unable to set a mark in his three attempts.

Korre Rider made his debut for Juniata in a pair of jumping events. He started the day with the triple jump, finishing in 13th with a mark of 3.88 meters. He and Massare each competed in the long jump. Massare set a new personal record with a mark of 5.71 meters. He bested his 5.47-meter mark set a F&M two weeks ago. Rider earned 29th place with a mark of 3.88 meters.

The team of Huffstutler, Secco, Robb, and Buckley wrapped up track events with the 4X400 meter relay, finishing in ninth with a time of 4:05.09. 

The Juniata men's track and field team looks towards conference championships as they head to Susquehanna for the SU Tuneup on Saturday, February 17th.
