GETTYSBURG, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field duo of Colson Lewis and Barrett Walters continued their strong outdoor 2024 campaigns, each scoring a pair of event wins.
Walters won both the hammer throw and javelin throw. He won the hammer throw with a mark of 47.38 meters, while he won the javelin throw with a mark of 48.07 meters. He was ninth in the discus throw with a mark of 38.73 meters, while he threw a season-best 11.81 meters in the shot put to place 13th.
Lewis had the best preliminary time in the 100 meters before claiming an event win in the final with a time of 11.18. Caleb Massare raced in the event for the first time this season, claiming 34th with a time of 12.22
In the 200 meters, Riddle finished first with a time of 22.67. Lincoln Riddle also earned a 200-meter podium with a season-best time of 23.28, finishing in third.
Riddle also earned fourth place in the 400 meters with a time of 50.67, a new season-high.
Massare earned fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.53.
Augie Secco had Juniata's best 5000-meter time of the day, finishing fourth with a time of 16:52.54. CJ Coffey set a personal record, earning seventh with a time of 17:18.11. He set a 17:52.50 a week ago at Westminster. Ellis Kline also set a new personal standard with a time of 17:32.60 to claim ninth. His previous best time was 17:47.21, also set at Westminster last week.
Sean Buckley earned a fourth place with his 3.65-meter pole vault, also achieving a PR. He set a 3.60 mark in the midweek at Shippensburg.
Massare also competed in the long jump, finishing 11th with a mark of 5.28 meters.
The men's track and field team scored enough for fourth place from a field of 12 teams with a score of 71.
The Juniata men's track and field team will compete in the final meet before Landmark Championships at the Elizabethtown Invite next Saturday.
