SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field team opened the indoor track and field season at the Susquehanna Early Season Invite on Saturday. Walters' weight throw mark was 14.78 meters, outpacing 19 other competitors and starting 0.18 meters off his personal best.

The sprint medley team of Caleb Massare, Colson Lewis, Lincoln Riddle, and Augie Secco set Juniata's fifth-best sprint medley time, finishing the event in seventh with a time of 4:13.12. The program's fifth-best time was previously a 4:13.56 set in 2004 at the Dickinson DuCharme Relays.

In addition to Walters, Luke Bittner and Logan Hackenberg also logged their first weight throw marks of 2023-24. Bittner was 16th with a throw of 9.36 meters, within 0.09 meters of his personal best. Hackenberg's first collegiate mark was 7.50 meters, good enough for 18th.

All three also competed in the shot put. Walters had the best mark for the Eagles at 11.48 meters for a 16th-place showing as he set his first indoor shot put mark. Bittner was next, throwing 8.53 meters to finish in 31st. Hackenberg threw 7.09 meters, finishing in 34th.

Massare, Riddle, Lewis, and Isaiah Huffstutler posted their first 60-meter time this season. Lewis had the team's best time, finishing in 11th place from the field of 73 with a time of 7.24. Huffstutler was in 22nd place, finishing in 7.34. Riddle was 33rd with a time of 7.44, while Massare with 59th, finishing in 7.76.
