Men's Track and Field Take Part in Millersville Metrics

MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field team continued the early portion of the outdoor season with Saturday's Millersville Metrics. 

The Eagles competed in a trio of field events, including the hammer throw, discus, and javelin throw.  

Barrett Walters, Brenden Nauman, and Luke Bittner each competed in the hammer throw, with Walters posting the team's best mark. He threw 46.94 meters for a 14th-place finish. Nauman threw 37.26 meters to finish in 21st, while Bittner threw 27.25 meters for a 28th-place showing. 

Walters and Bittner each competed in the discus. Walters had his best mark in the event this season, finishing in 14th with a mark of 37.73 meters. Bittner set a new personal best, throwing 27.53 meters to finish in 40th, improving on his previous best by 3.75 meters set last week at the Coach P Invitational in Susquehanna.  

Walters also took part in the javelin throw. He threw 53.00 meters to finish in seventh place with his best throw of the season. 

Bittner was the lone representative for Juniata in the shot put, throwing 9.35 meters to finish in 42nd.  

Juniata competed in three track events, including the 100-meters, 200-meters, and 400-meters. 

Lincoln Riddle finished the 100-meter dash in 11.90, good enough for 41st. His 200-meter dash time was a new personal best at 23.64 to finish in 21st. He also raced in the 400-meter event, finishing in 24th with a time of 54.10.  

The Juniata men's track and field team heads to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania next Saturday for the Ed Fry Invitational.
