Men's Track & Field Compete at Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field team returned to action at Saturday's Moravian-hosted invite at Lehigh University's Rauch Fieldhouse. 

A trio of Eagles took part in the weight throw. Barrett Walters threw 13.93 meters in the weight throw to finish in ninth place overall out of 41 competitors, setting a new personal best. Walters sets the third-best mark for the weight throw in program history. Brendan Nauman hit a mark of 10.54 meters for a 31st-place finish. Luke Bittner rounded out the competing Eagles, as he threw 9.04 meters for a 36th place showing. 

The Eagles had competitors in the one-mile race, the 60-meter trials, the 800 meter race, the 400-meter race, and the 200-meter event. 

In the 60 meters race, John Redos clocked in with a time of 7.62 to finish 22nd in his 60-meter debut for Juniata. He was followed by Caleb Massare in his first Juniata appearance, who finished in 28th with a time of 7.70, and Zion Gomez who finished in 32nd with a time of 7.77.  

Four Eagles took part in the 200-meter event, with Redos leading the way for Juniata. The freshman clocked in with a time of 24:60 to finish in 19th place out of 43 competitors. Lincoln Riddle followed in 23rd place with a time of 24.79, setting a baseline time for the 200-meter race. Massare placed in 31st with a time of 25.61, and Gomez finished in 40th place with a time of 26.71.  

Riddle also took part in the 400-meter race, as he finished in seventh place with a time of 53.26. 

Ellis Kline competed in the one-mile run, clocking in with a time of 5:42.90 to finish in 46th place in his first one-mile event. He also raced in the 800-meter event, finishing in 2:34.58 for a 50th place effort in his first attempt. 

The Juniata men's track and field team returns to action this Friday, January 27th, as they head to Franklin & Marshall College for the Mini-Dip Invitational.
