Men's Track and Field Competes at S.U Invite

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field team competed at the Susquehanna University Invitational, Saturday.

Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) placed fifth in the shot put marking 13.02m. In the weight throw, Daniel Fernandez (New Oxford, Pa. / New Oxford) placed 18th marking 11.37m and Phillips placed 25th marking 10.49m. In the high jump, Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) placed ninth marking 1.75m. 

Vinnie Caroselli (Upland, Pa. / Milton Hershey) was the top finisher of the day. Caroselli placed fourth in the mile with a time of 4:33.75 and Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer) placed seventh coming in with a time of 4:36.56. The Eagles distance medley, finished third coming in with a time of 10:56.12. Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora) placed sixth in the 800m (2:02.00). 

In the 4x400m relay, the team placed fifth with a time of 3:41.15. In the 3000m, Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) placed fifth (9:17.70) while Steven Glodek (Amberton, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) placed 17th (10:17.58)

In the 60m hurdles, Gardner placed 11th finishing with a time of 9.31. In the 60m dash, Calvin Bembry II (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) finished with a time of 7.61 while Gardner finished with a time of 7.66 and Noah Zolnak (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) finished with a time of 7.77. In the 200m dash, Zolnak, Bembry, and Malcolm MacDermid (San Francisco, Calif. / Lick-Wilmanding) placed 35th, 41st, and 42nd, respectively.  

Juniata returns to action next weekend as they compete in Landmark Championships hosted by Susquehanna.
