LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Juniata men's track & field team competed at the Bucknell Bison Open this weekend.
Senior, Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora) broke the Juniata indoor record in the 1000m run, he finished with a time of 2:39.36. The previous Juniata record was 2:39.82 set in 2007. Teammates, Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) and Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) also competed in the 1000m run. O'Donovan and D'Amico finished 5th and 11th, respectively.
Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer) placed tenth in the 3000m run, finishing with a time of 9:07.53. In the 5000m run, Vinnie Caroselli (Upland, Pa. / Milton Hershey) finished 16th clocking in at 16:08.70. In the 60m hurdles, Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) finished 16th with a time of 9.21. In the 400m dash, Meci finished 25th coming in with a time of 55.28, Malcolm MacDermid (San Francisco, Calif. / Lick-Wilmanding) finished 35th (57.23) and, Noah Zolnak (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) finished 38th (59.17).
Gardner placed 30th in the 200m dash with a time of 24.07. In the 60m dash, Zolnak clocked in with a time of 7.76. In the one mile run, O'Donovan finished 17th with a time of 4:38.04 and D'Amico finished 19th coming in with a time of 4:38.30. In the 4x400m relay, the team of Zolnak, Meci, MacDermid, and D'Amico clocked in at 3:50.11.
In the field, Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) placed 24th in the shot put marking 11.57m.
The Eagles will travel to Susquehanna on February 2nd to compete in the S.U. Challenge.
