Men's Track and Field Finishes in Fourth Place at Landmark Championships

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field team finished fourth in Landmark Championships.

Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) was the Eagle top finisher of the day. He took second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.68 while Brian Dignazio (Milford, Mass. / Milford High) placed ninth with a time of 1:06.54. In the field, Storm Fridinger (Shippenburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) was the top finisher for the Eagles taking third in the high jump marking 1.83m. John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa. / Northern Lebanon) placed sixth marking 1.73m and Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) placed eighth marking 1.68m. Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) was another top finisher in the field, placing third in the javelin throwing 56.33m and Randolph placed fourth throwing 49.69m. 

In the 5,000m, Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer) finshed fifth (15:38.70) while teammates Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) finished seventh (15:44.79), Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) finished 12th (16:09.86), Kevin Schofield (Madison, Conn. / Daniel Hand) finished 13th (16:10.90), and Ben Martin (New Holland, Pa. / Garden Spot) finished 14th (16:11.33). In the 400m dash, Fridinger placed sixth crossing the finish line at 51.31 and Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / Saint John's Prep HS) placed 12th with a time of 53.59. 

Gardner placed third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.33 and Dignazio placed eighth coming in with a time of 18.17. In the 3,000m steeplechase, Alexander Jones (Burlington, N.J. / Burlington Township) finished fourth with a time of 10:07.17 while Steven Glodek (Amberton, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) finished seventh with a time of 10:43.20. Fridinger placed 11th in the 200m dash. In the 800m run, Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora) finished 10th coming in at 1:59.50 and Lucas Simpson (Silver Spring, MD / Albert Einstein) finished 13th with a time of 2:00.89. 

The team of MacMullin, Fridinger, Randolph, and Gardner took fifth in the 4x100m relay with a time of 44.81. In the 4x400m relay, Fridinger, Gardner, MacMullin and Meci placed fifth with a time of 3:33.23. 

In the field in the shot put, Phillips placed seventh throwing 13.11m while Fernandez placed eighth throwing 12.86m.
