Men’s Track and Field Opens 2017 Outdoor Season at Jim Taylor Invite

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field team began its outdoor season on Saturday at the Jim Taylor Invite hosted by Susquehanna. JC had several finishes in the top 10.

 

Evan Ulrich (Homer, NY/Homer) was third in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:38.76. Alexander Jones (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) was 12th (16:06.52) and Vinnie Caraselli (Hershey, Pa./Milton Hershey) was 17th (16:16.20).

 

The men had two runners in the top 10 in the 800 meter run. Ryan Bodgan (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) came in eighth (2:01.53) and Andrew Meci (Woodstock, NY/Onteora) was right behind him in ninth (2:01.64).

 

Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) placed 16th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.9. He came in 22nd in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.34.

 

In the field, Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) was sixth in the hammer throw with a measurement of 44.21 meters. He was 12th in the discus (37.29), and 14th in the shotput (12.23). John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) came in eighth in the javelin with a toss of 48.63 meters. Nathan Chavis (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) was tied for 10th in the pole vault at 3.80 meters.

 

The Eagles compete at the Frostburg Invitational next Saturday. The meet begins at 11:00 a.m.
