Men’s Tennis Closes Out Regular Season With A Win

HUNTINGDON, PA- The Juniata men's tennis team hosted Mount Aloysius on Saturday morning in their final regular season match of the year. The Eagles easily dispatched the Mounties by the score of 9-0.

 

In doubles play, Dean Polisena (Adelaide, Australia/St. Ignatius) and Matyas Kohout (Krhanice, Czech Republic/Gymnasium Jizni Mesto) won at first flight 8-0. Sho Sato (Shiga, Japan/Kansai Gaidai University) and Clarence Yeung (Hong Kong, China/St. Joseph College) also won by the same margin. Sam Brumbaugh (Perkasie, PA/Penn Ridge) and Kyle Salage (Blakeslee, PA/Pocono Mountain West) teamed up at third doubles for an 8-1 victory.

 

Polisena and Kohout both won at first and second singles with identical 6-0, 6-0 scores. Sato was a victor at third singles, 6-1, 6-0. Brumbaugh, Yeung, and Salage were victorious at fourth, fifth, and sixth singles.

 

Prior to today's match, graduating seniors Brumbaugh, Yeung, and Salage were honored. Sato was also recognized as he is returning to his native Japan after the semester is completed.

 

Next up for Juniata are the Landmark Conference semifinals on Tuesday afternoon. The #1 seeded Eagles will play #3 seeded Merchant Marine. Match time will be at 3:30 p.m.
