HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College men's tennis team put on a clinic Wednesday afternoon, showcasing how to win, with a 9-0 sweep of Susquehanna University. Not only did the fifth Landmark Conference win of the season clinch a spot in the postseason tournament for the Eagles, but the victory also set a single-season program record for wins, surpassing the mark tied by the 2012-13 team last year.

All three doubles pairs earned victories for Juniata without dropping a game. All told, the Eagles only dropped three games through all nine matches. Sophomore Bryan Gregory (Glen Mills, Pa. / Garnet Valley) and senior Justin Wisniewski (Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown) won their third consecutive doubles match, improving to 9-2 at the No. 2 position. Wisniewski kept his streak alive; winning his 14th consecutive singles match, and Gregory grabbed his first No. 2 victory of the year to improve to 4-1 in league matches, 11-1 in dual matches, and extend his own winning streak to eight.

At the No. 1 doubles position, freshman Dean Polisena (Adelaide, Australia / Saint Ignatius) and sophomore Logan Moore (Chadds Ford, Pa. / Unionville) bounced back from a loss last week at York College to earn their eighth win of the season together. The duo is now 3-2 in league play. Polisena won his third match in a row at the No. 1 singles position and Moore his fourth at No. 5. Both players are 4-1 in Landmark play and have won nine of their last 10 singles matches.

Sophomore Mike Lifshitz (Worcester, Mass. / Worcester Academy) joined Wisniewski as the two undefeated-in-Landmark-singles players for Juniata with his sixth consecutive win. He is now 12-1 in dual matches and has won nine of his last 10. Lifshitz and partner senior Elliott Perow (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) took home their fourth straight doubles victory and the pair has yet to drop a match at the No. 3 position. Perow improved to 3-2 in Landmark singles with his win and earned his 12th overall victory of the season.

Juniata will face Stevenson University this Friday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m. and then play host to Drew University on Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m. for the final scheduled home match of the regular season.
