HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – On the final day in Hilton Head, S.C., the Juniata College men's tennis team made it a sweep with match wins over Gordon College, 8-1, and Greenville College, 7-1 in a match shortened for darkness. The Eagles improved to 4-0 on the year.

In the first match of the day, Juniata took down the Fighting Scots, only dropping the No. 1 doubles draw and taking all six singles by a combined score of 72-16. Sophomore Mike Lifshitz (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Academy) walked through No. 6 singles 6-0,6-0, and classmates Logan Moore (Chads Ford, Pa./Unionville) and Bryan Gregory (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) each took their singles 6-1, 6-1.

Lifshitz teamed up with senior Elliott Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) for an 8-1 win in No. 3 doubles and Gregory and partner senior Justin Wisniewski (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) won No. 2 doubles, 8-3. Freshman Dean Polisena (Adelaide, Australia/Saint Ignatius) earned the final win against Gordon, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 1 singles.

The match against Greenville was shortened due to darkness, but not before the Eagles claimed five of the six singles contests and two of the three doubles. The pairs of Gregory and Wisniewski, and Perow and Lifshitz won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles by scores of 8-4.

Gregory's singles match at No. 3 was called for darkness with the other five singles claimed by Polisena, Wisniewski, Perow, Moore, and Lifshitz. Lifshitz battled through a three set match winning the final fame 10-5.

Juniata will stay on the road with two Landmark Conference matches, one at Catholic University of America and the other at U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, before finally returning to Huntingdon for the teams' home opener March 24, at 3:30 p.m., against Lycoming College.
