River Hawks Blank Eagles

Jake Swank
Jake Swank went three for three at Susquehanna.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata College baseball team dropped their Landmark Conference matchup against Susquehanna University, 17-0, Saturday afternoon.

Adam Kipp (Mt. Wolf, Pa. / Northeastern) and Jake Swank (Portage, Pa. / Portage) had a single each in the first two innings, however, the Eagles were unable to string additional offensive action together as the River Hawks led 1-0 after the second. Susquehanna put three additional runs up in the third to expand their lead.

Kipp reached first on an error to start off the fourth and advanced to second off Swank's single to the pitcher; however, the two were left on base as the River Hawks retired the next two batters. Juniata was able to hold Susquehanna to their 4-0 advantage through the fifth inning, but the River Hawks came out swinging in the sixth, putting an additional seven runs on the board for a 11-0 lead.

Susquehanna scored three more in the seventh and three more in the eighth to win 17-0.

Juniata returns to action Wednesday, April 24, at home against Hood at 4:00pm.
