WINTER HAVEN, FL- Juniata baseball swept Waynesburg on Monday afternoon with 6-5 and 11-7 victories. The wins increase the Eagles' record to 4-1 overall.

In the first game, the Yellow Jackets led 3-0 after the second inning. The Eagles got on the board on Cody Krepps' (Tyrone, PA/Bellwood-Antis) RBI single.

Waynesburg increased its lead to 4-1 in the fourth inning. In Juniata's portion of the inning, Jacob Terry (Denver, PA/Cocalico) hit a three-run double to tie the game up. Chris Schreder (Lititz, PA/Lancaster Catholic) hit a single and advanced to second on an error by the Waynesburg catcher that brought in Terry and gave the Eagles a 5-4 lead.

Juniata tacked on a run in the fifth to go up 6-4. The Jackets added a run in the sixth. Waynesburg attempted to mount a rally in the seventh inning. Matt Bendinger led off with a double. He advanced to third on Jonathan Kletzil's groundout. The Jackets, however, were left empty-handed as Eagles pitcher Chris Sinisi (Altoona, PA/Altoona Area) struck out the last two batters to secure the win for Juniata.

Terry went 2-for-3 with a double, one run scored, and three RBIs. Schreder was 2-for-4.

On the mound, JD Weyant (New Paris, PA/Chestnut Ridge) pitched 3.1 innings and surrendered five hits, four earned runs, four walks, and struck out three. Sinisi pitched 3.2 innings in relief and only gave up two hits, one earned run, one walk, and struck out three batters.

In the second game, JC jumped on the Jackets early on and led 4-0. Waynesburg was able to get to within 5-4 in the fifth inning.

An Eric Grace (Hopewell, PA/Northern Bedford) single in the top of the sixth plated two runs and Brady Cotler (Chadds Ford, PA/Salesnium) singled in another run to increase the Eagle advantage to 8-4. Schreder and Anthony Lombardo's (Altoona, PA/Altoona Area) two-run singles upped the Juniata lead to 11-4.  Waynesburg was able to add three runs in the bottom of the seventh but fell short in their comeback as Juniata held on for the win.

Joe Klusman (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a double and a run scored. Schreder finished 4-for-5 with three runs scored and a RBI. Kyle Pannebaker (Thompsontown, PA/East Juniata) had a double, two RBIs, and a run scored. Andre Pendleton (Penn Valley, PA/Harriton) also had a double and was 2-for-4 with one run scored and a RBI.

The Eagles play Penn-State Abington tomorrow morning. Game time is set for 9 a.m.
