Coley Named Landmark Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md.- Women's volleyball middle hitter Mackenzie Coley has been named Landmark Athlete of the Week for Women's Volleyball, marking the second straight week that an Eagle has earned the honor. 

Coley played a vital role across a weekend where Juniata did not drop a set in the ASICS Invitational in Huntingdon. The Eagles scored straight-set wins over #10 Berry, #25 Christopher Newport, and RV Carnegie Mellon. 

Coley posted a .429 hitting percentage across the weekend with 34 kills, four block assists, a solo block,  and two digs. Against Christopher Newport, she swung for 11 kills with a season-high .579 hitting percentage, while she totaled a season-high for kills with 13 against Berry. She was also named the Most Valuable Player on the All-Tournament Team.

Courtney Williams earned AOTW recognition in week one, marking the eighth time in program history that Juniata has won consecutive Landmark Athlete of the Week honors. Coley earns the recognition for the second time in her career. 

The Juniata women's volleyball team takes a cross-country trip this weekend for the California Lutheran Invitational on Friday, September 15th and Saturday, September 16th. They are slated to play #2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, #19 UC Santa Cruz, and RV University of Chicago across the weekend.
