TOWSON, Md- Women's volleyball middle hitter Courtney Williams has been named Landmark Athlete of the Week for women's volleyball in week one.  

Williams played a key role in a pair of four-set wins over ranked opponents this weekend, including #9 Johns Hopkins (25-16, 25-13, 22-25, 25-18) and #19 Wittenberg (25-21, 31-29, 16-25, 25-17). Across the weekend, Juniata claimed three total wins, also defeating Beloit (25-11, 25-11, 25-7) in straight sets. 

Williams ended the weekend with 21 kills, a .486 hitting %, and four block assists. Her best performance against Wittenberg, as she delivered 12 kills on 18 swings for a .667 hitting percentage with two block assists. 

The Juniata women's volleyball team returns to action this weekend to host the Asics Invitational. They'll face #11 Berry, #21 Christopher Newport, and Carnegie Mellon.
