Coley Named to College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Team

Greenwood, Ind. - Women's volleyball sophomore Mackenzie Coley has been selected to the 2022 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Volleyball Team for NCAA Division III schools. 

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. She becomes the sixth Juniata women's volleyball player to earn the honor and the first since Steph Strauss in 2010. Juniata College has had 23 Eagles named CSC Academic All-Americans®. 

Competitively, middle hitter Coley was a key component of the women's volleyball team as they claimed their third NCAA Division III National Championship. She was named to the AVCA All-America First Team for the first time in her career after being named AVCA Region V Player of the Year and placing on the All-Region First Team. She earned the 50th All-America First-Team Certificate for the program, is the 32nd player to place on the First Team, and she became the 46th player to place as an All-American for the Eagles. Coley posted the Landmark Conference's best hitting percentage at .389, the 14th-best hitting percentage in DIII volleyball. She collected 305 kills, 28 aces, 26 digs, and a team-high 89 total blocks and 0.79 per set, the third-best rate in the Landmark Conference. She was named to the All-Tournament Team in the NCAA Tournament, posting a .321 hitting percentage, 32 kills, three solo blocks, six block assists, and three digs across the Elite Eight, Final Four, and Championship Game. Coley placed on the All-Tournament Team for the Huntingdon, Pa. Regional of the NCAA DIII Women's Volleyball Tournament after posting 27 kills, a .489 hitting percentage, three solo blocks, and ten block assists. She made the All-Landmark Conference First Team while also being named the Conference's Player of the Year. She was named MVP of the Landmark Conference Championship Tournament with 28 kills, one ace, a .434 hitting percentage, and four block assists. Coley was also named Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week for women's volleyball twice this season (9-20, 10-10).
