Eagles Edge Huskies

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The #4 Juniata women's volleyball team picked up a 3-1 (25-12, 25-13, 22-25, 25-11) win over visiting Division II Bloomsburg Tuesday evening inside Memorial Gymnasium.

The Eagles took ten of the first 11 points in the opening set as they hit .409 on their way to an easy 25-12 victory. Juniata got strong play from all over the place as Lily Podolan had three straight kills during the set. Kennedy Christy had two consecutive aces before Audrey Muth eventually won the set with a kill of her own.

The second set saw the Huskies hold a narrow 8-9 lead early, but the Eagles completely took over from there as they shut the set down with a 17-4 run as they took set two on an attack error, 25-13.

Juniata suffered from several miscues in the third set that saw Bloomsburg eke out a 22-25 win and keep the match going. The Eagles responded in the fourth as they blitzed the Huskies with a 10-1 rally early and never looked back as they won by their biggest margin to end the match, 25-11.

Abbey Telesz had 37 assists, four kills, seven digs, and two block assists as the offense hit .295. Podolan had nine kills while hitting .692, while Muth led everyone with 14 kills. Sydney Ohl chipped in with five aces and 12 digs.

Juniata opens Landmark play down in Washington D.C. on the campus of The Catholic University of America this weekend. They will play Susquehanna at 1:30 and Drew at 4:00 on Saturday.
