Women's Volleyball to Host Scranton in Landmark Championship Saturday at 7:00

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's volleyball team, following a 3-0 sweep of Susquehanna in the semifinals on Wednesday, will host the University of Scranton (25-6) this Saturday for the Landmark Championship at 7:00 PM.

Admission to Saturday's championship match is $7 for adults, $4 for minors under the age of 18, and anyone under the age of ten is free. All Landmark students, faculty, and staff get in free with a college ID.  Fans are encouraged to wear white to the game. 

The last time these teams met in a Landmark Champion was 2017, which Juniata won via sweep. 

The teams met this year in late October at Elizabethtown, with the Eagles winning 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-16).  

Juniata is currently ranked #9 in the country by the American Volleyball Coaches Association while on a 26-game winning streak. 

Juniata is amongst the best in the country in several categories. They are second in the country in opponent hitting percentage at .077; they are ninth in the country in hitting percentage at .252 and ninth in kills per set at 13.70. They also have the third-best winning percentage in the country at .963. 

Scranton is 29th in the country in aces per set at 2.72. They are tied for 48th in opponent hitting percentage at .115. 

Victoria Taylor (Middletown, Del. / Delaware Military Academy) leads the Eagles in kills with 254 while hitting .321, with her hitting percentage being the fourth-best in the conference. Every player in front of her is a middle, including teammates Grace Erskine (Mooresville, N.C. / Community School of Davidson) and Mackenzie Coley (Norco, Calif. / Norco HS) and who are hitting .351 and .350, respectively, which are the top two hitting percentages in the conference. Erskine is eighth in the conference total blocks at 60. Taylor is second in the conference in kills per set at 3.74. Kennedy Christy (Saxonburg, Pa. / Knoch HS) is second on the team in kills at 203 and second in service aces at 33. She is also fourth in digs at 221. Aly Reardon (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West HS) leads the Eagles in aces at 40 and is third in digs at 237.  

Olivia Foley (Coldwater, Mich / Coldwater HS) is first in the conference in assist per set at 10.39, which is the 15th in the country. She is also second in the conference in total assists at 883. She is also second on the team in digs at 280. 

Kiona Sky Rousset-Hernandez (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico / Colegio Bautista de Carolina HS) is third in the conference in digs per set at 5.32 and leads the team in total digs at 463. 

For the Royals, Stephanie Margolies is fourth in the Landmark in kills at 294 and seventh in kills per set at 2.77. Eryn Boken is tied for seventh in the conference in kills at 270 and is third in hitting percentage at .325. Boken leads the conference in aces at 67 and aces per set at .65. She is also second in total blocks in the Landmark at 97. Caileigh Cox leads the conference in assists at 1013 and is second in assists per set at 9.38.  Molly Dunfee leads the Royals in digs at 427. 

Juniata has won every Landmark Championship since the conference formed in 2007 and has won the conference championship in 39 consecutive seasons, going back to 1981.  

JC is 35-2 all-time against Scranton, with the Royals getting their last win against the Blue and Gold back in 2017. Their first victory was back in 1977. 

In Landmark Championship matches, Juniata has only dropped four sets in their 13 appearances.
