Women's Volleyball Set to Take on Susquehanna in Landmark Tournament Semifinal

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's volleyball team, following an outstanding regular season that saw them go 26-1, is the #1 overall seed. They will host #4 Susquehanna University in the Landmark Tournament semifinal Wednesday at 7:00 pm.  

Admission to Wednesday's semifinal match is $7 for adults, $4 for minors under the age of 18, and anyone under the age of ten is free. All Landmark students, faculty, and staff get in free with a college ID.  

The match is a rematch of the 2019 Landmark Championship game, which Juniata won via sweep. 

The teams met this year in early October in Huntingdon, with the Eagles winning 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-21).  

Juniata is currently ranked #9 in the country by the American Volleyball Coaches Association while amid a 25-game winning streak. They dominated Landmark Conference play, winning all seven matches in straight sets.

Juniata is amongst the best in the country in several categories. They are second in the country in opponent hitting percentage at .077; they are ninth in the country in hitting percentage at .252 and ninth in kills per set at 13.63. They also have the third-best winning percentage in the country at .963. 

The River Hawks come into the postseason as the top blocking team in the country, blocking 2.60 balls per set, and are second in total blocks at 257.5. 

Victoria Taylor (Middletown, Del. / Delaware Military Academy) leads the Eagles in kills with 243 while hitting .319, with her hitting percentage being the fourth-best in the conference. Every player in front of her is a middle, including teammates Mackenzie Coley (Norco, Calif. / Norco HS) and Grace Erskine (Mooresville, N.C. / Community School of Davidson) who are hitting .353 and .352, respectively, which are the top two hitting percentages in the conference. Erskine is eighth in the conference total blocks at 59. Taylor is second in the conference in kills per set at 3.74. Kennedy Christy (Saxonburg, Pa. / Knoch HS) is second on the team in kills at 195 and second in service aces at 33. She is also fourth in digs at 208. Aly Reardon (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West HS) leads the Eagles in aces at 38 and is third in digs at 228. 

Olivia Foley (Coldwater, Mich / Coldwater HS) is first in the conference in assist per set at 10.32, which is the ninth-best in the country. She is also second in the conference in total assists at 846. She is also second on the team in digs at 270.

Kiona Sky Rousset-Hernandez (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico / Colegio Bautista de Carolina HS) is third in the conference in digs per set at 5.15 and leads the team in total digs at 470.

For the River Hawks, Rosina Espositio is second in the Landmark in total kills at 355 and third in the conference in kills per set at 3.62. Madison Rockey is third in total assists with 743 and assists per set at 8.26. Paige Sfiroudis is second in the country in blocks per set at 1.29 and tied for sixth in the country in total blocks at 110.0. Lizzie Herestofa leads the conference in digs at 547 and in digs per set at 5.53. 

Juniata has won every Landmark Championship since the conference formed in 2007 and has won the conference championship in 39 consecutive seasons, going back to 1981. 

JC is 62-1 one all-time against the River Hawks, with the lone River Hawk victory occurring back In 2019.
