HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The #11 Juniata women's volleyball team swept aside visiting Christopher Newport, 3-0 (25-3, 28-26, 25-19), Friday evening inside Memorial Gymnasium.
The Eagles completely controlled the opening set as they scored the first eight points and 19 of the first 20 on their way to a completely dominant 25-3 win in set one.

The second set was competitive, but it appeared the Eagles once again had control as kills from Olivia Foley (Coldwater, Mich / Coldwater HS) and Victoria Taylor (Middletown, Del. / Delaware Military Academy) made it 22-16. The teams traded kills, with Grace Erskine's (Mooresville, N.C. / Community School of Davidson) giving JC set point. The Captains responded with five straight points to capture set point, but a block by Erskine and Kennedy Christy (Saxonburg, Pa. / Knoch HS) followed by a Captain attack error gave JC the advantage for a moment. CNU took the following point before a kill from Mackenzie Coley (Norco, Calif. / Norco HS) and an ace from McKenna Walker (York, Pa. / York Catholic) ended the set in favor for JC, 28-26.

The third set was another cagey affair, with Juniata leading by three at 20-17 after they committed an attack error. A kill from Foley, Taylor and Erskine had them two points from away from winning the match. CNU tallied back to back kills, which saw Juniata call timeout. The Eagles regrouped, with two straight Erskine kills ending the match.
