Reigning National Champion Blue Jays Rise Above Eagles

ITHACA, N.Y.- The Juniata women's volleyball team fell to #6 and defending national champion Johns Hopkins, 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 16-25, 15-25) Saturday morning at Ben Light Gymnasium.  

Victoria Taylor (Middletown, Del. / Delaware Military Academy) tallied 11 kills with two digs, Brianne Carmody (Midlothian, Va. / James River) added eight kills, two aces and eight digs while McKenna Walker (York, Pa. / York Catholic) tacked on nine digs. Aly Reardon (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West HS) accumulated seven kills and four digs. Olivia Foley totaled 43 assists and nine digs to go with a pair of kills. 

Juniata had their best hitting set of the match in the opener, hitting .268 but the Blue Jays hit .351 to take the first set and that was only their third best hitting performance in a set of the match. 

JC managed to conquer Johns Hopkins in the second set, 25-21, even though they hit .095, but the Blue Jays took control the rest of the match as they cruised past the Eagles.
