Correia Earns Landmark ATOW Honors

TOWSON, Md.- Juniata track and field athlete Nandee Correia earned Landmark Athlete of the Week for field events following her record-improving throw in the hammer at the Blue Jay Tuneup. 

Correia competed in the hammer throw and the shot put last weekend. 

Correia won the hammer throw with a mark of 45.59 meters, setting a new personal and program best in the process. She broke the program record for the second consecutive week following her 40.39-meter mark at last weekend's Mason-Dixon Classic at Gettysburg

She took second place in the shot put with an 11.30-meter mark. 

This is the program's third athlete of the week honors this season, the first during outdoor, with Olivia Barbacci being selected twice during the indoor season. 

Juniata earned fourth place from 13 competing schools with a score of 66.5.

The Juniata women's track and field team competes in next weekend's Landmark Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 4th, and Sunday, May 5th.
