Women's Track and Field Wraps Up Indoor Season in Landmark Championships

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata women's track and field team competed in the Landmark Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships this afternoon. Olivia Barbacci finished in third place in the women's pole vault, setting two personal records on the day, while the program claimed 1.5 more points than in last year's indoor championships.

Barbacci's pole vault attempt of 2.90 meters meets her personal record set at the Houghton December Meet in December, the third-best mark in program history. Ashley Alfree also competed in the pole vault, finishing in eighth place with a 2.30-meter jump.

Alfree also competed in the high jump with a 1.37-meter mark to finish in seventh place.

The Eagles competed in the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter race in the track discipline.

Barbacci claimed eighth place in the 400-meter dash for a new personal record with a time of 1:03.41. She takes 1.04 seconds off her time set in early February at the Franklin & Marshall-hosted Blue-and-White Invitational. Rebecca Christophel also competed in the 400-meter race, finishing in 16th place with a time of 1:06.66.

Barbacci also set a personal record in the 200-meter dash, as a 28.30 time earned her 16th place. She takes 0.36 seconds off her first 200-meter time as an Eagle set one week ago at the SU Tuneup.

The Juniata women's track and field team returns to competition for the outdoor portion of the season in a month's time, as Susquehanna hosts the Jim Taylor Invitational on March 24th and 25th.
