HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women's tennis team celebrated senior day at Raffensberger Tennis Courts Friday evening honoring Maggie Ackley and Marilyn Ogof for their dedication to the program. The Royals bested the Eagles 7-2 during the last match of the season.
Starting in doubles play, Medina Yessenaliyeva and Celia Navarro de Torres fell 3-8 in first doubles. Charley Madlock and Ogof dropped 1-8 in second doubles as Ackley and Shveta Kalathur lost 2-8 in third doubles.
In singles play, Yessenaliyeva bested her opponent 6-1, 6-3 in first singles to complete a perfect 9-0 Landmark Conference season in first singles. Navarro won 6-0, 6-3 in second singles. Ackley fell 2-6, 2-6 in third singles and Madlock dropped fourth singles in extra points, 6-1, 2-6, 64-77. Ogof lost in fifth singles 2-6, 2-6 while Kalathur fell 2-6, 2-6 in sixth singles.
This match wraps up the women's tennis season as they finish 4-10 overall and 2-7 in the Landmark Conference.
