HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The women's tennis team hosted Catholic Saturday but lost 8-1 against the Cardinals.
In doubles play, Maggie Ackley (Clearville, Pa. / Grier School) and Jamie Mahigel (Lewistown, Pa. / Mifflin County)lost 8-2 in first doubles, Olivia Cooley (Portland, Ore. / La Salle Catholic College Prep) and Lana Dumnich (Dallastown, Pa. / Dallastown Area) lost 8-2 in second doubles while Shannon Snyder (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) and Payton Kough (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Career Magnet) lost 8-0 in third doubles.
In first singles, Ackley lost 6-0, 6-0 as Mahigel won in second singles 3-6, 75-60, 1-10. In third singles, Cooley lost 6-1 and 6-0 and Dumnich lost 6-3, 6-0 in fourth singles. In fifth singles Snyder lost 6-2, 6-0 and Kough lost 6-0, 6-0 in sixth singles.
Due to weather, the women's tennis team will play at the Summit Athletic Club against Scranton on Sunday, May 1 starting at 12:30 pm.
