ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.- The women's tennis team were beaten in Landmark play on Sunday, visiting Elizabethtown as the season winds down. They were swept by the Blue Jays, falling 9-0.
All three doubles pairings were beaten 0-8, with Jamie Mahigel (Lewistown, Pa. / Mifflin County) and Lana Dumnich (Dallastown, Pa. / Dallastown Area) at first doubles, Olivia Cooley (Portland, Ore. / La Salle Catholic College Prep) and Marilyn Ogof (Lake Ariel, Pa. / Western Wayne) at second doubles, and Shannon Snyder (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) and Payton Kough (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Career Magnet) at third.
Singles would be similarly difficult for the Eagles. Mahigel lost 0-6, 0-6 in first singles, while Ogof was beaten 1-6, 2-6 in the second singles match. Cooley lost 0-6, 1-6 at third singles, Dumnich was beaten 1-6, 2-6 at the fourth spot, and Snyder lost 0-6, 0-6 in fifth singles. Kough rounded out the day with a 1-6, 1-6 loss at sixth singles.
The team will finish out their season with two Landmark matches at home. They host Catholic on April 30th at 1:00 PM, before welcoming Scranton to town the next day for their season finale, starting at noon on May 1st.
