Eagles Swept By River Hawks

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The women's tennis team visited Susquehanna on Wednesday afternoon for a Landmark contest, falling 9-0 to the hosts.

The team of Jamie Mahigel (Lewistown, Pa. / Mifflin County) and Lana Dumnich (Dallastown, Pa. / Dallastown Area) lost 2-8 in first doubles, while Olivia Cooley (Portland, Ore. / La Salle Catholic College Prep) and Courtney Eller (Colver, Pa. / Central Cambria) lost 4-8 in second doubles. Shannon Snyder (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) and Payton Kough (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg Career Magnet) fell 1-8 in the third doubles.

Mahigel was defeated 1-6, 4-6 in first singles, while second singles saw Eller retire from the match with an injury. Cooley was beaten 1-6, 0-6 in third singles. Dumnich pushed her opponent to a tiebreaker in set one of fourth singles, but ultimately lost the tiebreaker 63-77 before falling 2-6 in set two. Snyder fell 1-6, 0-6 in fifth singles, before Kough was beaten by the same 1-6, 0-6 scoreline in sixth singles.

The result moves the Eagles to 2-11 overall and 0-3 in the Landmark. They'll next look to the weekend for more conference play, traveling to Moravian on Saturday before visiting Elizabethtown on Sunday. Both matches will begin at 1:00 PM.
