Greyhounds Strike Early, Topple Eagles

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team fell behind early and couldn't find an equalizer as they lost to Moravian, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at John Makuvek Field.

Grace Gibbs (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck HS) ripped a shot off the crossbar 40 seconds into the contest for the Eagle's best opportunity of the day.

In the 12th minute, Moravian found the back of the Eagle net. They continued to create chances the rest of the half as they held a 7-1 advantage in shots at halftime. Avery Zales (Montoursville, Pa. / Montoursville Area HS) made two saves in the first half.

In the second half, Moravian took another six shots, with Zales making two additional stops to keep the Greyhounds at bay.

The Eagles will take on Goucher next Saturday at 1:00.
