Eagles Play Rangers to a Scoreless Draw in Madison

MADISON, N.J.- The Juniata women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw at Drew, Saturday afternoon at Ranger Stadium to open Landmark Conference play.  

Fiona McDonald (Langhorne, Pa. / Neshaminy) had the game's first shot, but it went high. The next five were all Ranger shots, with Cati Besch (Bellefonte, Pa. / Bellefonte Area HS) being called upon to save two of them to keep the score at 0-0 at halftime.  

The Rangers had seven shots in the second half, with three of them on frame, but Besch saved them all to keep the Eagles even. 

The Eagles managed two shots of their own in the second half, with Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick High School) missing wide right in the 56th minute and Helen Chavez (Stroudsburg, Pa. / Stroudsburg HS) forcing the Drew keeper to make a save in the 68th minute.  

The teams each managed one shot in the overtime periods, with Drew missing wide right inside the final minute of the first OT while Alyssa Bui (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill High School East) also missed wide right in the 117th minute. 

The Eagles return to action on the road at Penn College, Tuesday. The kickoff is at 7:00.
