HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women's soccer team walked away with a score of 1-1 against Hood College, Saturday.
Four minutes into the first half, the Eagles took their first shot of the game. Emma Moreland (Lebanon, Pa. / Cedar Crest) shot but missed wide trying to advance the Eagles early. Moreland fired off another shot a few minutes later but missed wide. Alyssa Bui (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill High School East) had a shot at a goal, but the Blazers goalie made the save. Hood tried to fire back, but Cati Besh (Bellefonte, Pa. / Bellefonte Area HS) held her own in the net.
Moreland added more pressure to the Blazers with a shot in the first minute of the second half only to be saved by the goalie. Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick High School) also fired off two shots in the second half, one high and one saved by the Blazer's keeper. Helen Chavez (Stroudsburg, Pa. / Stroudsburg HS) added to the half with a shot that was saved by Hood's goalie.
Chavez was not satisfied and headed the ball into the back of the net off a corner from Bui in the 86th minute of the game putting the Eagles up 1-0.

The Bulldogs got revenge less than one minute later, tying the game. The Eagles went into double overtime but could not muster another goal despite shots from Bui and Mariah McDonald (Langhorne, Pa. / Neshaminy HS).
The Eagles travel to Penn-State Altoona Wednesday, September, 22 for a 7 pm kickoff.
