Women’s Soccer Receives NSCAA Team Ethics & Sportsmanship AwardJanuary 08, 2014KANSAS CITY, Kan. – For just the second time in program history, the Juniata College women’s soccer team has received the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Ethics & Sportsmanship Award, the organization announced this afternoon. The award is presented in the Gold, Silver or Bronze versions, which recognize teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

Senior Paula Pryor Earns NSCAA Scholar All-East Honorable MentionDecember 31, 2013KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Juniata College women’s soccer senior Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, N.Y./Burke Catholic) earned Honorable Mention honors for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Division Women’s Scholar All-East Region award, the organization announced. Pryor is carrying a 3.66 GPA with a P.O.E. in Geology.

Juniata Places 40 Student-Athletes on Landmark Academic Honor RollDecember 05, 2013TOWSON, Md. – At the end of each season the Landmark Conference announces the Academic Honor Roll recognizing student-athletes that have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher. This year, Juniata has placed 40 student-athletes on the fall honor roll, up from 37 on year ago.

Senior Paula Proyr (Westbrookville, N.Y./Burke Catholic) is receiving her second all-conference honor; senior Alicia Snyder (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) becomes just the second women’s soccer player to be awarded all-conference distinction all four years of her career, and junior Lillian Dudek (Downington, Pa./Upattinas School) is receiving her first all-conference accolade.

The Eagles will host the Drew University Ranges for the second time in four days, this Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 2:30 p.m., in a rematch of the final game of the regular season. Women’s Soccer Hosts Drew In Final Regular Season Conference MatchOctober 31, 2013HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College women’s soccer team has clinched a spot in the Landmark Conference tournament for the first time since the 2010 season, but, with one league match remaining, the seeding for the postseason is still up in the air. The Eagles will host the Rangers of Drew University this Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. in the first half of the final conference double header of the season. In an effort to prepare for the matchup on senior day, Juniata has continued to work on its fitness level by running a series of conditioning drills, spelling out the letters R.A.N.G.E.R.S.

Eagles Set Program Goals Record In 6-1 Win Over Penn State-AltoonaOctober 29, 2013ALTOONA, Pa. – The Juniata College women’s soccer team capped of its non-conference season with a 6-1 win over Penn State-Altoona, Tuesday evening. Four different Eagles tallied goals for Juniata as the team improved to 13-4 on the year. With the third goal of the night the Eagles set a new Juniata College women’s soccer program record for goals in a season. They now stand at 50 goals on the year having broken the previous record of 46 set in 2007.

Snyder’s Penalty Kick Goal Sends Eagles Past Catholic, 1-0October 26, 2013HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College women’s soccer team secured a place in the Landmark Conference tournament today with a 1-0 victory over Catholic University. The Eagles survived an onslaught of 17 shots from the Cardinals, made four team saves off the end line, and got a late second half penalty kick goal from senior Alicia Snyder (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) to qualify for postseason play for the first time since the 2010 season.

Juniata Takes Down Goucher For First Landmark WinOctober 12, 2013HUNTINGDON, Pa. – From the first whistle, the Juniata College women’s soccer team took control of the match today, but it took until the 68th minute for the Eagles to notch the game-winning goal to defeat Goucher College 2-1 in Landmark Conference play. Juniata is now 9-3 overall and improves to 1-1 in league.
