Women's Basketball Slated for Game at Historic Palestra

TOWSON Md.- For the second consecutive season, the Landmark Conference schools will travel to the storied Palestra for Landmark Conference basketball competition, and the Juniata women's basketball team will make their first trip to the University of Pennsylvania to face the Catholic University of America on Sunday, January 14th.

The Juniata women's basketball team is slated to play Catholic at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 14th, the second of four contests on the day.

The Landmark Conference first played at the Palestra one year ago, as the Juniata men's basketball team marked the occasion with a 66-53 victory over Elizabethtown.

Known as the "Cathedral of College Basketball," The Palestra opened its doors in 1927, making it the oldest major college arena still in use today. It has hosted more games, more visiting teams, and more NCAA tournaments than any other facility of its kind. It is currently home to the Philadelphia Big 5 Championship.

The participating programs will have the opportunity to play in a memorable location that has seen great players like Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, and Oscar Robertson, all of whom played as a member of visiting teams.

Click here to purchase tickets. Admission is $25 for bleachers and $30 for seatbacks, while admission is good for the entire four-game day of Landmark Conference basketball.
