HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's basketball team hosted the Scranton University Royals on Saturday afternoon. The Royals hit the ground running in the first half putting them ahead early and able to leave with a 59-29 win over the Eagles. 

Scranton was able to find the basket first but after back-to-back plays, the Eagles were able to get ahead. Haily Sherman (Marysville, Pa. / Susquenita HS) put up a layup for the Eagle's first points. After a defensive rebound by Averie Hess (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore HS), the Eagles rushed down to the offensive side of the court. Kynnedy Miller (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area HS) hit a three to place the Eagles at 5.

The first half ended 31-12. Scranton pushed ahead in the second half as the Eagles put up 29 to put the score at 59-29. Sherman led the Eagles with seven points, follwed by Steph Emert (Hoovesville, Pa. / North Star HS) with five and Hess with four. 

Juniata will return to the court on Wednesday, February 2nd as they pay Catholic a visit with a tip-off time at 7:00 pm.
