TOWSON, Md.- Juniata softball standout, Cate Baran (Tyrone, Pa. / Tyrone Area HS) was named the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Baran had a stellar outing for the Eagles last week, racking up 14 strikeouts in 13 innings pitched. In the first game against Catholic, Baran allowed just one run on three hits while fanning five. In the start against Elizabethtown on Saturday, the rookie struck out a season-high nine batters.
