HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College softball's Kelsea Decker (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) was named the Landmark Conference's Softball Pitcher of the Week for her 4-1 effort during the Eagles' spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Decker dropped her first start of her sophomore season, but turned it around quickly to record three consecutive wins and added a 6-2 save on the last day of spring break competition.
Decker finished the week with a 33 innings of work and recorded a stellar 1.91 ERA. She struck out 40 batters, including 15 in Juniata's (5-3) 6-2 win over Johnson State. Over the eight games, Decker only allowed 12 earned runs and 19 hits while fanning at least seven hitters in four of her five appearances.
Juniata travels to Lebanon Valley College on Tuesday, March 13, for a double-header beginning at 3:00 p.m.
