Lewis Wins 200 Meters as Eagles Claim Sixth Place at Landmark Outdoor Champs

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field team earned a third consecutive sixth place finish, as day two was highlighted by Colson Lewis winning in the 200 meter and earning bronze in the 100 meters. 

Lewis set a new personal best time as he earned the 200-meter win with a time of 21.85. His previous best time was 22.17, set at the Westminster Invitational last April. He is now 0.08 seconds off the program record of 21.77 set by Randy Anderson at the 2005 MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  

He finished second in the 200 meters with a time of 10.83, bringing his Sunday point tally to 18.  

Juniata's 4x400 meter relay team of Lincoln Riddle, Caleb Massare, Isaiah Huffstutler, and Colson Lewis earned fourth place with a time of 3:31.45 (a new season best) for five points towards the team's score. 

The quartet also placed fifth in the 4X100 meters with a 43.33, the team's best time of the season. 

Sean Buckley earned 3.5 points as he tied for fifth place in the pole vault, clearing 3.58 meters on the first time of asking after starting the day at 3.28 meters. Gavin Robb tied for ninth after jumping 3.43 meters. 

Barrett Walters earned more points as he placed fifth in the discus throw with a mark of 38.91 meters on his last attempt. He also competed in the shot put, finishing 12th with a 10.95-meter throw. He contributed 18 points to the team score across the weekend. 

Riddle set a new best 400-meter time of the season as he claimed sixth place with a time of 50.49 to snag three points.

Massare achieved a new 400-meter hurdle PR with a time of 59.48 to earn tenth place. He had set a 59.53 at the Gettysburg Mason-Dixon Classic last month. 

Augie Secco finished in 13th place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:37.66. 

The Juniata men's track and field team earned 51.5 points over the weekend, achieving its third consecutive sixth-place finish at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This is a 3.5-point improvement from the team's 47 last year and the third straight season with a year-on-year points improvement.
