BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field team began Landmark Conference Outdoor Track and Championships with day one of the two-day event. The afternoon was highlighted by thrower Barrett Walters winning the javelin throw and Brenden Nauman rounding out the event's podium, while four total personal records were set on the day.

In total, the Eagles competed in three field events, including the javelin throw, discus throw, and long jump.

Walters claimed first in the javelin throw with a mark of 56.14 meters which also now stands as his personal best in the event. His previous-best mark dated back to Susquehanna's Easter Invite in 2021, where he threw 54.17 meters. Nauman's best throw of the season at 50.75 meters earned him a third place from the field of 15.

Walters also rounded out the top five in the discus throw with a mark of 39.45 to grab fifth from 15. Luke Bittner also competed in the event but fouled out on his attempts.

Jordan Auman had a strong showing in the long jump, setting a new personal best of 6.14 meters for an 11th-place result. His previous best was a mark of 6.02 meters set at Shippensburg's Mid-Week Meet in April.

Juniata competed in three track events, including the prelims for the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, in addition to the 10,000-meter race.

Lincoln Riddle's 200-meter time of 22.97 earned him an eighth-place finish to claim the last spot in tomorrow's final for the event.

Ellis Kline set a new personal best in the 10,000 meters with a 36:58.06 that earned him an eighth-place finish from a field of 13. His previous best was set at the Messiah Invite in 2022, where he logged a 36:58.94.

John Redos and Zion Gomez each competed in the 100-meter dash, with Redos finishing in 20th with an 11.83. Gomez was right behind with his best time of the season to claim 21st with a time of 12:05.

Juniata stands in fifth place overall through the first day, with six of 20 events in the entire championship weekend completed. They hold a four-point advantage over sixth-place Scranton and are 14 back from fourth-place Catholic.

The Eagles return for the final day of the Landmark Outdoor Track and Field Championships tomorrow morning for six track events and three field events.
