Multiple Eagles Earn Top Ten Finishes at Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Juniata men's track & field team traveled to Moravian today for the Coach P Invitational, competing in events throughout the day.

Zion Gomez (Chesapeake, Va. / Grassfield) placed 12th in the 100 Meters with a time of 11.94 seconds. Gomez would also compete in the 200 Meters, along with Andrew Donlan (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area) and Ari Tendo (Ottawa, Canada / Beaconsfield (Quebec)). Donlan finished 9th with a time of 23.53 seconds, while Tendo was 12th at 24.33 seconds and Gomez was just behind him in 13th at 24.64 seconds. Donlan and Tendo also both ran in the 400 Meters, with Donlan in 8th at 53.54 seconds, and Tendo behind him in 9th at 55.58 seconds. Thomas Cope (Fogelsville, Pa. / Allentown Central Catholic) earned 28th place in the 1500 Meters, clocking in at 4:48.86. The four would then join up to compete in the 4X100 Meter Relay, finishing in 3rd place with a combined time of 46.35 seconds.

Turning to the field, Juniata was represented in throwing events by Brenden Nauman (Myerstown, Pa. / ELCO) and Barrett Walters (Mifflintown, Pa. / Juniata). Walters was the sole Juniata thrower in the Discus, placing 9th with a distance of 38.41m. He and Nauman then both threw in the Javelin Throw. Nauman earned a spot on the podium with a 3rd place finish, throwing 55.67m. Walters placed 7th, measuring in at 50.89m.

The team will have one final meet before competing in the Landmark Conference Championships on May 7th and 8th, heading to Shippensburg on the 30th for the Paul Kaiser Invitational.
