ALTOONA, Pa.- The Juniata men's tennis team was defeated 7-2 in their trip to Penn State Altoona on Wednesday evening, picking up victories in #1 singles and #1 doubles.
Martin Munoz and Utsav Deravariya picked up an 8-4 win in #1 doubles competition, while the duo of Axel Chabbert and Ezenna Emuka lost 3-8 in #2 doubles competition, and Dillon Murphy and Kyle Louder were defeated 8-2 in the #3 doubles match.
Munoz continued his perfect season in #1 singles action, going 6-1, 6-0. In #2 singles, Deravariya was defeated 2-6, 1-6, while Chabbert lost 4-6, 2-6 in #3 singles. #4 singles competition saw Emuka drop 2-6, 0-6. Murphy took his #5 singles match to the third set, opening with a 6-4 win before falling 2-6 in the second set and 8-10 in the third set. Louder lost 1-6, 0-6 in #6 singles.
The Juniata men's tennis team has a Landmark Conference match against Moravian on Saturday. They will host at the Summit Athletic Club in Altoona.
