Cardinals Soar Past Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The men's tennis team hosted Catholic Saturday but could not come up with the win after three hours of play. The Eagles lost 5-4 against the Cardinals.

In doubles play, Ilia Buralkin (Moscow, Russia) and Utsav Dhir Deravariya (India / Sunway University) lost 87-73 while William Michelson (Old Mystic, Conn. / Stonington) and Seth Strawser (Richfield, Pa. / East Juniata) lost 8-2 and Nate Whelan (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J. / Point Pleasant Beach) and Victor J.B Jung (Normandy, France) lost 88-76.

The Eagles then went into singles play but couldn't stay in the lead. In first singles, Buralkin lost 7-5, 6-4 while Michelson won 5-7, 7-5, 2-6. Robert Singer (Olney, Md. / Sherwood) lost 6-1, 6-1 in third singles and 6-3, 6-1 in fourth singles. In fifth singles, Ezenna Emuka (Houston, Texas / William B. Travis) lost 6-1, 6-0 as Dhir Deravariya won 6-4, 6-3 in sixth singles. 

The Juniata men's tennis team wraps their season 12-7 overall and 1-5 in the conference. This is the most wins in a season since 2015.
