GREENSBURG, Pa. – The men's tennis team traveled to Pitt. -Greensburg and returned victorious winning 6-3 on Saturday.
Starting strong in third doubles, Victor J.B Jung (Normandy, France) and Nate Whelan won 8-0, followed by William Michelson (Old Mystic, Conn. / Stonington) and Seth Strawser (Richfield, Pa. / East Juniata) dominating 8-1 in second doubles. Next, Ilia Buralkin (Moscow, Russia) and Utsav Dhir Deravariya (India) lost 8-2 in first doubles.
Finishing first in third singles, Strawser swept 6-0, 6-0, followed by Nate Whelan (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J. / Point Pleasant Beach) winning 6-0, 6-0 in fifth singles. Carrying the momentum Dhir Deravariya was victorious in sixth singles 6-1, 6-0, followed by a 6-1, 6-1 win from Michelson in second singles. Next was a 6-1, 6-4 loss from Ezenna Emuka (Houston, Texas / William B. Travis) in fourth singles and a Buralkin 3-6, 6-4, (10-7) loss in first singles.
The Eagles are back at home on March 22 hosting Hood at 3:30 pm.
