Eagles Disarm Warriors

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata men's tennis team hosted Lycoming and won 7-2 at the Raffensperger and Brumbaugh courts on Tuesday.

Juniata started off strong, winning all of doubles play. Ilia Buralkin (Moscow, Russia)StrawserWhelan, and Utsav Dhir Deravariya (India / Sunway University) won in first doubles 8-5. William Michelson (Old Mystic, Conn. / Stonington) and Seth Strawser (Richfield, Pa. / East Juniata HS) won in second doubles 8-2, and Ezenna Emuka(Houston, Texas / William B. Travis High School) and Robert Singer (Olney, Md. / Sherwood HS) won by default in third doubles. 

This carried the Eagles into strong singles play as Buralkin won at first singles 6-1, 6-1, Michelson played in second singles and won 6-0, 6-3, Whelan earned JC a point in fifth singles with scores of 6-1, 6-0. In sixth singles, Deravariya won by default, but Maeda and Emuka lost in third and fourth singles with scores of 6-1, 6-2, and 6-2, 6-3, 10-8, respectfully. 

This makes for Juniata's fifth win of the season, which is the most number of wins in a fall season since 2010.

The Eagles travel to Misericordia this Saturday, October 9, to compete at 12 pm.
