TOWSON, Md.- Juniata men's tennis standout Nate Whelan (Point Pleasant Beach, Nj / Point Pleasant Beach High School) was named Landmark Athlete of the Week.
Whelan dropped just three sets in singles play in a 1-1 week for the Eagles. Against Albright, he defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-1 in singles action and won 8-1 in doubles play. Whelan blanked his competition in the matchup against Penn College, winning 6-0, 6-0, and earned an 8-0 victory in doubles. Keisuke Maeda (Tokyo, Japan / Nihon University) was his partner for both doubles matches.
The men's tennis team will return to action tomorrow at Penn State Altoona at 4:00.
