  • 75 Student-Athletes Receive Degrees at 136th Annual Commencement

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – With each of their respective athletic careers at Juniata College officially over, the Eagle senior student-athletes had their sights on one more milestone, graduation. There were 75 student-athletes who participated in the 136th Annual Commencement on Saturday, May 17 to receive their degrees.
  • 2013-14 Season-In-Review: Men’s Tennis

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – At the start of the 2013-14 men’s tennis season, Juniata College was picked to finish second by the Landmark Conference preseason poll. While the Eagles finished as runners up in the league tournament, Juniata confounded even the lofty expectations set for them. The Eagles stormed though the Landmark season with a perfect 7-0 record. From the first league win to the last Juniata was No. 1 in the conference this year. The Eagles finished the regular season 16-1 in dual match play with the only loss coming at the hands of Gettysburg College on the final day. The 17 total wins on the year eclipsed the record for wins in a single season set by the 2012-13 team a year ago.
  • Landmark Announces Spring Sportsmanship Teams

    TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference has announced the final All-Sportsmanship Teams for the inaugural season of the award. In the fall of 2013 the leagues’ Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) established the sportsmanship award as a way to recognize those who are making an impact through their fair play on the field. The team includes one representative from each institution for each sport as chosen by their coaches and teammates.

    TOWSON, Md. – For the second time during the 2013-14 season, 40 Juniata College student-athletes earned Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll standing, the league announced this morning. Juniata had 40 members on the fall honor roll and 29 after the winter season.

    TOWSON, Md. – The Juniata College men’s tennis team dominated the Landmark Conference regular season with a 7-0 record and finished second in the conference championship. The league coaches recognized the success of the team by naming four Eagles to the Landmark All-conference teams, more than any other team. Freshman Dean Polisena (Adelaide Australia/Saint Ignatius) was announced as both Player and Rookie of the Year, marking just the second time in Landmark history that a single player has taken home both awards, and third-year head coach Jason Cohen earned Coach of the Year.

The Eagles, competing in their first ever championship match, faced off against the Cardinals of Catholic University of America and were just one win shy of the victory, falling 5-4. Juniata finished the season 17-2.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – This Sunday the Juniata College men’s tennis team will have a chance to play for the programs’ first Landmark Conference title. The Eagles advanced to the championship match after qualifying as the No. 1 seed in the tournament with a perfect 7-0 league record and a 5-1 semifinals win over Moravian College. Juniata will host the No. 2 seeded Cardinals of Catholic University of America on Raffensperger Tennis Courts at noon April 27.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – In the Juniata College men’s tennis teams’ first ever home-postseason match, in its first match as the No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament, the Eagles came away with their first ever Landmark tournament win. Juniata topped Moravian College 5-1 win and earned a chance to play the second seeded Cardinals of Catholic University of America for the Landmark title on Saturday.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The 2014 season has been the most successful in program history for the Juniata College men’s tennis team. The Eagles set a new record for wins in a singles season (16) and stormed through 16 straight matches with a win before suffering the first loss of the season on the final day to Gettysburg College. Juniata posted a perfect 7-0 Landmark Conference record to earn the No. 1 seed in the post-season tournament for the first time. The Eagles will host No. 4 seed Moravian College in semifinals action Wednesday, April 23, at 3 p.m. on Raffensperger Tennis Courts.

    TOWSON, Md. – With just one match remaining in the regular season, the Juniata College men’s tennis team is still undefeated at 16-0. The Eagles rounded out a perfect Landmark Conference regular season with an 8-1 win over Goucher College. Juniata is now 7-0 in league play and will face Moravian College in the conference semifinals at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 23.

The victory over Drew marks the first time the Eagles have prevailed over the Rangers since the foundation of the Landmark back in 2007 and clinches the regular season Landmark title for the first time in program history. Juniata is now 15-0 on the year and 6-0 in league play.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Entering the final home weekend of the regular season and the Juniata College men’s tennis team is still unbeaten. With a 9-0 over Susquehanna last Wednesday, the Eagles clinched a berth to the Landmark Conference tournament with a 5-0 league record and two conference matches remaining. Juniata will host Stevenson University Friday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m. and then host Drew University on senior day, April 12 at 1 p.m., for the final home match of the regular season.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College men’s tennis team put on a clinic Wednesday afternoon, showcasing how to win, with a 9-0 sweep of Susquehanna University. Not only did the fifth Landmark Conference win of the season clinch a spot in the postseason tournament for the Eagles, but the victory also set a single-season program record for wins, surpassing the mark tied by the 2012-13 team last year.

    TOWSON, Md. – Juniata College men’s tennis senior Justin Wisniewski (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) has earned Landmark Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced this afternoon. Wisniewski won all five of his No. 2 singles matches last week to help the Eagles improve to 13-0 on the season. In fact, Wisniewski has yet to drop a singles match since the beginning of dual match play on March 9.

    YORK, Pa. – Two more opponents fell at the hands of the Juniata College men’s tennis team as the Eagles improved to 13-0 on the year. Juniata topped York College 7-2 before taking down Elizabethtown College 9-0 in the afternoon match. With five matches still to play in the 2014 season, the Eagles have already won as many matches this year as all of last season.

Juniata is now in sole possession of first place in the league standings after handing the Greyhounds their first conference loss of the season.
